Research

Fossils, artifacts, and their geological settings are the raw data of human evolution – they evince what actually happened when and where, and its ecological context. As such, field research represents the essential foundation upon which the discipline of paleoanthropology rests.

This site is aimed at increasing research on the vertebrate fossil collections from Olduvai Gorge and also highlighting the current and past field projects that have contributed to that collection.
